Luis Suarez with the latest goal for the Uruguayan team continues to increase the gap with Messi in World Cup qualifying achievements.
Luis Suarez, Edinson Cavani, and Darwin Nunez scored three goals for Uruguay against Colombia in the 2022 World Cup qualifier in South America. This is Colombia’s biggest defeat at home after 82 years.
With a doubling of the gap, Suarez got his fourth goal in the 2022 World Cup qualifiers. He is the second Uruguayan player in history to score in four consecutive World Cup qualifiers after Ruben Sosa.

Cavani himself (117 matches) and Suarez (116) has climbed to 3rd and 4th place for the most number of international caps, behind Diego Godin (138) and Maximiliano Pereira (125). Among the top scorers in South America, Suarez is ranked after surpassing Ronaldo de Lima (62) and behind Pele (77), Messi (71), and Neymar (64).
The time to host the 2022 World Cup qualifiers
AFC has agreed about the time to hold the matches in the second qualifying round of the 2022 World Cup.
Due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic globally, Asian football leagues had to postpone to 2021. The Asian match schedule will take place with dense density.
Through an online meeting, they discussed the options for organizing tournaments taking place in 2021. The AFC Competition Board has agreed on a plan to organize the tournaments.
However, the timing of the matches depends on actual conditions. In the event that two Football Confederation members negotiate by themselves, the time of the match will also be accepted by the AFC, after the proposal is approved by FIFA.
